P&O Cruises has shaped an unique partnership with the British coastal rum firm The Tidal Rum which can create a novel rum mix particularly for Arvia’s Caribbean sailings, the corporate introduced.
Created by Jersey-based founders of Shorts Boy Distillery, Ben Clyde-Smith and Harry Coulthard, The Tidal Rum is impressed and influenced by the ocean and shore. Its wealthy golden smoothness comes from a cautious mix of Caribbean cask-aged rums from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic, whereas an infusion of frivolously oak smoked Pepper Dulse, a little-known wild seaweed generally known as ‘the truffle of the ocean’ discovered on Jersey’s shoreline at low tide, offers a novel ocean salted caramel taste.
The rum’s maiden manufacturing will happen onboard Arvia within the first rum distillery at sea in Anderson’s Bar.
