Day 7 of my Autumn New England Street Journey (with a toddler) began the day by driving via Smuggler’s Notch—it’s a brief and tremendous windy drive via a mountain move that’s severely lovely.
Useful Tip: Get began on the drive as straightforward as doable. Site visitors is infamous throughout foliage season so we hit the street at 7am and had it to ourselves!
We then spent the whole day exploring nature trails and hanging with animals at @trappfamilylodge, an Austrian-inspired mountain lodge with 300 acres of farmland in the midst of Stowe.
The Von Trapps, made well-known from the film The Sound of Music, fled Austria throughout WWII and finally landed in Stowe, VT the place their hospitality lives on in the present day. Do you know the Sound of Music is likely one of the high 10 highest-grossing movies of all time??

We did handle to catch a glimpse of the famed Stowe Group Church from afar, however any nearer meant combating visitors and big crowds.
